"Ew!" you will yell and wrinkle your nose every time you see a gay person. You will look at me like you expect me to agree with you. I don't.
"There is nothing wrong with gay people. They're just like you and me. You're so homophobic," I say to you. I hate that you are like this. I know you are my best friend but if you know if you say things like that, I feel embarrassed to be seen with you.
"I'm not homophobic. I just find gay people disgusting! " You say coldly.
"Thinking that they are disgusting is homophobic."
"So what if I AM homophobic? Why does it matter if I AM?" you question me.
I shrug my shoulders. I know that if I say something wrong, you will get mad at me and yell. I've put up with a lot from you, but not this time.
"Exactly. Why do you even care anyways? The things that I say don't apply to you anyways, do they?" You look at me strangely.
I care because it's hurtful. Not to me, but to other people. Some of my friends happen to be gay. They cheer me up and make me laugh like GOOD friends should do. They don't say I'm an idiot just because I have opinions that they don't necessarily agree with.
Too often, we hear on the news that a person has committed suicide. Many of those people are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. They are bullied for who they like or what gender they are. Bullied… by people like you. You can think that gay people are disgusting (which they aren't) if you want to, but you don't have to say things out loud against them. Think of how they must feel…
"No. I'm not gay so they don't apply to me, but still, I don't think it's okay for you to call them disgusting and point at them and say there is something wrong with them."
"Whatever. I'm not changing my opinions for you."
I look down and mess with my necklace. I guess I lost the argument.
I know that I can't really change you. You are close-minded. A bigot. A homophobe. But the next time you wrinkle your little nose at them, or say "You stupid fag", or say "That's so gay" like it's a bad thing to be gay, just think of how you are making other people feel.
I need new friends.

I Said It
The words flew out,
after years of denial,
repression and prayer.
A warm chill consumed my person,
as much as a contradiction as I feel.
I gasped at what I had done.
Why did I do it?
Why did I tell HIM??
Why am I even asking these questions?
For the first time in years,
I feel good.
Really good!
I want to shout it from the top of this little town
and yet I feel more repressed than ever.
I realize the consequences of my actions,
of my words.
"I'm gay".

Letter to Murdered LGBT Child
Why did they take you, and not me..?
.. How could they do this..?
You were only 13, 14.. and you had barely began your journeys.
And yet they cut your string, and they let you float up to the heavens..
Far too early, but they still welcomed you with open arms.
Why did they do this to you..
You were so sweet and innocent, and would never hurt a fly..
How could they think that loving another is such a threat that it's worth killing someone over?
I'm just like you.
Alone and afraid.. and.. we have been played the same cards in life.
Yes.
I too have feelings for people of the same gender. I too have confessed my love for someone..
But

LGBT SPEECH
We are human, are we not? We are as human as each other and as human as anyone else is. Others may ridicule us because of our sexuality, but when you get down to it, we walk the same Earth as they do, we breathe the same air they do, we do the same things they do in our daily lives. We are humans, just as they are, and no matter what some may say, don't let yourself forget that!
We are not superior, just as no one else is superior over us. We deserve equality because the human race is equal. Humans all differ from each other in appearance, personality, talent, voice, attitude, and so on. We've learned to accept people for thei

Just a rant.
Yes, this ACTUALLY happened today.
I'm not gay or bi or transgendered or anything, but I just don't like Lauren's attitude. Even if you don't agree with being gay, you don't have to point at them and make it completely obvious that you hate them. It's rude and really offensive to them.
If you don't like a group of people (for whatever reason,) first you should probably try to educate yourself so that you can understand them and (whatever it is about them that you don't like.) If you aren't going to do that, at the very least, just keep your opinions to yourself because one of these days someone is going to get mad who will actually fight you or something.. and that's not good...
I support gay rights, marriage, people. All of that. I don't think that there is anything wrong with LGBT people.

ALSO, don't mind my grammar and punctuation in this, please. I typed this quickly because I was irritated.
I also had it in paragraphs and stuff. Once I uploaded the text, it ruined all of the spacing and organizing that I did on MS word...

UPDATE : [May 22, 2011]
Thanks for all of the support guys. (:
I never expected this many people to view/fave/comment on it.
So thanks so much for making this "popular."
For people who haven't commented, feel free to. I enjoy feedback. (:
Again, thanks SOOO much. Love you guys.

Edit again: I tried to fix this up a bit... Didn't work very well..

question: you do realize what "phobic" means, right?
It means afraid of
homophobic means (or at least should mean) "afraid of homosexuals"
